Market Your Blog with Web 2.0

To properly implement blog marketing strategies with Web 2.0 features you have to:

1. Understand Them

You have to study each Web 2.0 feature and understand how they work in blog marketing. You must ask yourself these questions:

- How can RSS feeds make visitors come back to your site? - How do social networking sites work? - How can social bookmarking help to improve my traffic? - Are there other Web 2.0 features that can help me improve my site’s recognition?

The more questions you ask yourself, the more you are inclined to find out how these Web 2.0 techniques work.

2. Apply Them To Your Blog

When you know how these Web 2.0 features work, apply them to your blog and let your visitors know that you have these Web 2.0 features that they can make use of to make them feel as interacted as possible with your blog.

It is best to get articles or e-books that show you how to apply these features step-by-step, so that you won’t get confused. Or, you can just hire a web programmer or designer to help you apply them.

3. Test, Test and Test

One thing about Internet marketing is, you can’t just bet that once you have applied a technique, you can see it working. Testing out a new addition to your site is important because you have to find out in which part of the site is the most optimized position to make it work.

For example, your RSS feed logo can be placed at any part of your site for your visitors to subscribe to, but testing it at different parts of the site for a certain amount of time can make you gauge where most of the visitors sign up for your RSS feed at. Once you see these Web 2.0 techniques working on your site, you can then focus on other Internet marketing related strategies like how to turn your visitors into your subscribers or buyers, writing a good web copy, how to improve sales and so on. These three tips are the basic fundamentals for you to focus on when you are into blog marketing, so never forget about them when you apply Web 2.0 strategies.

What is Affiliate Blogging?

After writing a Blog , you can make some money with that blog reffered as Affiliate Blogging.

This type of blogging relies on affiliate marketing, which is the Internet’s answer to commercials and commissions. There are two ways to advertise on the World Wide Web: by paying outright to place your ad on a site, or using the pay-per-click method that is often termed “affiliate marketing”. While both methods are employed by large companies with something to sell, pay-per-click ads are much more likely to be used on a blog.

The most common type of affiliate blogging uses Google Adwords and Google Adsense. These two technologies are tied together in order to create an affordable way for companies to market their services and products, and an easy way for bloggers to make money. Companies, ranging from large places like Amazon.com to small websites selling crafts, pay Google Adwords to place their ads on affiliate web pages. Depending on the amount of money they agree to “pay-per-click”, these ads can be placed on popular websites, or smaller blogging sites.

A blogger can then sign up for Google Adsense. This program allows bloggers to create an account for their site with Google. A code is then generated, which can be placed on your site via HTML or a site editor. In the case of Blogger.com, this entire process is automated. The code causes ads to show up on your site in whichever format you specified to Google, and can be tailored to your site’s content.

For every ad that is clicked on your blog, you will be paid a set amount of money (determined by Google and their metrics). Once you reach a preset limit of money, you will be paid by Google Adsense.

Secure your Joomla! Website

Joomla! Web Security is a new book from Packt that provides a concise overview of all the parts needed to construct and implement strong security measures for their Joomla! website. Written by Tom Canavan, this book teaches developers to secure their website by setting up an SSL and implementing disaster recovery features and using real-world tools to protect against hacks on their website.

Joomla! is one of the most powerful open-source content management systems used to build websites and other powerful online applications. While Joomla! itself is inherently safe, misconfigurations, vulnerable components, poorly configured hosts, and weak passwords can all contribute to the downfall of a website. This book will help conquer all these limitations and will show how to secure a website from security threats.

Users will be introduced to a strong approach to security. The book starts by showing users how to choose the right hosting sites and then moves quickly into implementing steps to securing the website and servers. Users will also learn about the harmful effects of SQL Injections and how to prevent them.

Through this book, users will explore several tools to help protect their website, handle security incidents, block nuisance IP addresses, and master the two important security layers - php.ini and .htaccess. Users will learn why security vulnerabilities exist and how to measure security by setting up metrics.
