Acrobat Pro 9 - Offers Special Benefits for Search Engine Marketers

By: Mandeep

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 has some special benefits for search engine marketers. Acrobat 9 is a multi featured software program that can implement, distribute and event optimize video for search results, into a user-friendly and inclusive software platform. It is a great advantage for most search optimizers who are looking to take benefit of the video space, but lack video post-production technical skills.

In an interview, Michael Folkers, Group Product Manager for Adobe Acrobat spoke about Acrobat 9’s video features and the new advantages for SEOs with the latest software release in an interview.

Video SEO benefit - simpler production

Using Acrobat 9, video files can be inserted directly into the PDF and viewed by anyone who has the free Acrobat Reader 9 plug-in installed on their system. Hence now SEOs need not waste time in understanding special video conversion requirements and encoding to multiple file formats. With Acrobat 9, even Microsoft Powerpoint files and Word files with video can be converted into animated, optimizable PDFs.

SEO benefit - social media optimization

Acrobat 9 also allows for embedded video to include comment tags from multiple viewers. Incorporating comment tags can increase the potential for backlinks, which translates to the better SEO of the PDF file.

SEO benefit - a strong compliment to your existing video SEO strategy

Acrobat 9’s software features can provide a great complimentary means of having indexable PDF text content around all of your video files. It can also be used as an acceptable duplicate of your existing content without incurring any search engine spam penalties.

However, there is one catch here. The video experience with Acrobat 9 is not backwards-compatible. This means that those people still using earlier versions of Acrobat Reader can only see an image in place of the video.

“Lively” Google’s New World!

By: Mandeep

Google launched a browser-based virtual world, “Lively” a free service in which 3D software enables people to gather in electronic rooms and other computer-manufactured versions of real life.

By using Lively, users can start building their own virtual worlds from the beginning. They can also opt to use some sample rooms created by Google. However, there is no single world where users can move around. Also, you have an option to choose and invite your friends to streamline personal images and videos.

Presently it only works with Windows Vista and XP PCs using Internet Explorer or Firefox.

This allows users to create an avatar and virtual worlds, design rooms virtually, chat and stream photos and videos to friends.

After installing a small packet of software, a user can enter Lively from other Web sites, like social networking sites and blogs,it doesn’t cost anything to use.

Lively (http://www.lively.com/) is already up and running and is speedy to set up and download. You can log in with any Google ID. It’s in beta at the moment, but then again, so is gmail. Technically.

Articles may be Long or Short, but should be relevant

By: Mandeep

In order to reach a larger audience , finding the ideal prospect for your blog or business is the goal of search engine optimization, social media optimization or promotion of your website.

Defining the ultimate goal of your pages before embarking on an optimization plan is the key to engaging the right types of traffic. Such traffic in return, could elevate exposure and authority in your niche. The reaction of the readers to your content will either elevate relevance for your brand or increase your bounce rate from lack of reader retention.

Here are a few factors to consider -

1. Using a content ranking strategy – We all know that, content is king. So, if the information you are providing isn’t worth the binary digits used to display it, then traffic will be a no use, no matter how many links or promotion methods you use to push it. Ideally, add at least 5 pages of unique, relevant content each week to your site, this will ensure that you have enough reasons for people to visit and that spiders index your content frequently which in turn will increase rankings.

2. Find the right medium for optimal conversion - When tailoring a message to your audience, one consideration should be assimilation time and usability. A study by Jakob Nielson and useit.com on long vs. short articles clearly summarized the pros and cons associated with the amount of time a reader can allocate before extracting the benefits of their time invested in translating the media in question.

3. Don’t give the reader more than they can chew or have the time to - Jakob suggests that information foraging and the amount of time a person is willing to spend on your page ultimately determines interaction, conversion and popularity. So finding the right audience is crucial for enlivening your online brand. In summary although a picture may be worth a thousand words, after identifying your target audience, you may in fact be better off using video as a medium.

Another idea is to employ a short and simple article or post that summarizes the points and then link to more in-depth white papers or supporting material instead of trying to elaborate your thesis with a ridiculously long article.

Concluding, from a SEO prospective, you can still achieve saturation of multiple keywords using a content development strategy that focuses on key notes of topical relevance (say 5-7 paragraphs of well written content about the subject) while maintaining the aim of gaining authority for your specific niche.

Over time, your site’s content can provide a great reading that could bring your brand into the spotlight and attract your most fitting recipient who can actually see the value in your proposition.
