Google’s New Service - “Knol”

Knol is Google’s unit of knowledge or an authoritative article about a specific topic. This is an online publishing service which is launched by Google. This is Mountain View-based publishing and reference service. Knol makes it easy for user to write and share knowledge with the world and also can make money from articles they write on specific topics.They can publish their articles by attaching their names to entries.
They can also run Google’s sold ads with their entries and can share the revenue.

Readers can also participiate in this online publishing service by pointing entries which they think are inappropriate or copyright protected.

Knol, is a best platform to read and write articles on all kinds of subjects.

It acomplishes your need of creating a small info site by writing for a particuler or specific subject. For every article you can also choose your licensing, your collaboration, and your advertising model.

User need a google account to write on a particuler topic in Knol. User wil find a typical Google editor layout When he/she wil log-in (knol.google.com) his/her google account.

There are 3 global settings in Knol which can be choose by users own wish :

1. Licensing - You can specify the license for each knol you write for sharing and adapting your Knol The default license for a new knol is CC Attribution. A creator can also choose CC Attribution-NonCommercial or All Rights Reserved.

2. Default collaboration model - With the help of this user can change the way of collaboration of readers on knols.

a. Open Collaboration - Choose this option if you want to have your article content wil modified by any one of reader. These changes will be immediately public.

b. Moderated Collaboration - Go for this option if you would like to accept suggestions from your readership, but you would like to review them before they are incorporated into your knol. Because in this any readership with knol account can suggest modifications and corrections to your knol. But these changes will not appear publically until you or another author accept it.

c. Closed Collaboration - If you want the group of co-authors you selected to be able to modify your knol, Choose this option. Changes wil be immediately public.

3. Advertising model : User can choose advertising model for every article. Users can connect an article to their AdSense account – this triggers a verification process. This advertising program is run by Google. This enables user to place content-relevant advertisements on knol. User can generate revenue from these ads on PPC basis.

New feature of Google AdWords

A new feature is added by Google in AdWords for Internet marketers to improve the Internet Marketing.

It wil be banificial for both marketers and users in terms of managing keyword and contextual advertising in one campgain. Marketers wil be able to display images on the sites which they like and set custom bids for individual placements.

Users can surf the ads that are appropriate to their content.

In short, With the usage of keywords and placements together, we can have better control over placement and pricing of the ads thereby helping us meet our ROI (Return On Investment) objectives.

B2B Opportunities Exist On Google

Selling a massive piece of machinery should be as much a part of search marketing as selling a consumer good like the iPhone.

A few years back when we talked affiliate marketing with eBay, we ended on a note about industrial and similar businesses that could make more of their online marketing efforts, but for myriad reason did not. Search marketing offers potential returns a B2B firm should consider.

The KoMarketing Associates blog showed seven ways search marketing, with Google as the central theme, promise so much for the business to business market. For starters, they recommend a B2B company enter its products into Google Base.

KoMarketing Associates also noted the virtue of promoting a B2B appearance at a trade show through both SEO and SEM. With search marketing, a clickable ad that leads to an appointment at an event may carry through to a sale.

They also stressed the importance of marketing for export, as well as for local markets. A B2B customer in one’s local market makes for a valuable commodity, one that a little SEO strategy should help capture.

Size doesn’t matter in B2B, as a company with products and a market in demand for them benefit from connecting. If competitors already embrace search marketing to capture this, a firm that isn’t doing as much needs to play catch-up to help with profitability.
