By: Admin

Search engine optimization(SEO) is a marketing technique of preparing a website or arranging a web sites content to obtain high ranking in various search engines once a relevant search is undertaken(choosing the proper keywords for a page’s meta tags!). It includes the process of updating HTML code. In all, it is a process of altering of web site, web pages and link to the web site to improve the ranking on search engines.

One should keep in mind a number of things when optimizing a website. These important things include the content and the structure of the web pages, the layout of the web pages, the HTML, Meta tags and the submission process.

In order to bring attention to your SEO, it is also important to pay attention to the design of the web site as it certainly affects the SEO process. Yes, I am talking about the web design for the optimization of the search engine!

Web design is designing of the web site (a web site is a collection of web pages carrying information about a particular topic or subject) and includes graphical presentation of content shown on the internet. It uses HTML, CSS and XHTML (it is the newest form of language!).

Before starting to design a web site for SEO it is important to define the purpose of website because it will show a focus on what the website is all about? What it will accomplish? and what visitors will derive from it? A clearly defines purpose will take you on the path of making a wonderful design and will leave a scope for future modification or improvement.

A good web site design is the fundamental need of SEO process as it balances the benefits and the objectives of SEO. The web design should meet the objective of SEO. If it is a sales tool, the web site should sell and if it is an information tool, it should provide information. There should be no confusion regarding the theme. So, it is very important to consider the web design carefully.

The basic purpose of the SEO is not to rank top only but to impress the visitors and generate leads also. So, the web design should be Search engine friendly that could meet out both of the purposes. A good and search engine friendly website can be characterized by the following salient features:

  • Easy to read.
  • Use good web design features and images to attract visitors.
  • Easy to download.
  • Provides easy and consistent navigation through the website.

The above mentioned points should not be overlooked while designing a web site which is search engine friendly otherwise it will take no long to cripple away your visitors!

According to a recent study, the two most important factors for credibility were: Design Look and Information Design/Structure!

Imagine a web site that is only constructed with words formatted in HTML text. No products photos, logos, nothing except keyword-rich HTML text. Would you like to visit that site again?

The problem with many search engine marketing firms is that the only thing that matters to them is a top position, or they focus on keywords only. I am not saying that keyword phrases are not important (because they are!). I am saying that there is so much more to the search engine marketing process than placing words on a page. Web site design and interactivity is equally important!

Design matters to the search engines so that visitors can access your keyword-rich text.

In fact, a search-engine friendly web site is going to provide more accurate search results for your internal site search engine, which totally enhances the user experience.
In SEO, Web Design is as important as keywords!
