Who doesn’t know the internet? Everybody uses internet for one or the other purpose. The internet is a wonderful place to market the business. However, many entrepreneurs go about it the wrong way and miss golden opportunities to get their business noticed. Creating a business marketing strategy using online techniques is time consuming and requires patience.

To be successful at online marketing, it is necessary to understand the king and queen of the kingdom: content and traffic. Content (This requires expertise and current knowledge!) rules as king of the realm because information contains the power. Traffic (Without it you are stuck out in a vast wasteland of websites that are never seen!) is queen with its intangible beauty that brings potential buyers to the site.

Like any another businesses, there are risks involved. For one, Internet browsers have shorter attention spans than those who see ads on print or watch them on television. The right tools and business techniques are needed to gain self-confidence and eventually gain big profits online. Below are some basic informations you need to get you started on the right path.

Domain name

Always keep your customer in mind while choosing a domain name. Try to think what your customer will think while searching! Your domain should be able to represent you and your product. Choose a domain name that is memorable, easy to spell, and type. Keep it short and practical. Customers should be able to remember your name and business purposes as it is going to prove beneficial for you in short as well as long run!

Google AdWords Testing New Google Checkout Button

Jeremy Luebke of Marketing Pilgrim discovered that Google AdWords is testing a larger and more branded Google Checkout button in AdWords results which appear above the fold. They are now placing the large button next to the above the fold ads.

Google has been running their shopping cart icons for months in AdWords results for businesses which feature Google Checkout as a payment option.

In this race, Yahoo has also introduced their labeling of Yahoo Advertisers who are Paypal merchants in their Yahoo Search Marketing ads using similar carts.

Google Adds New URL Removal Tool To Its webmaster Tool

Google has added some new functionality to its Webmaster Tools at Webmaster Central that allows you to remove certain URLs from Google’s search results. This functionality removes the specfied files from Google’s search results NOT from Google’s index.

But the most important point is that you can only remove URLs of sites for which you have verified ownership.The option for this is labeled “URL Removals” and is located under the “Diagnostics” tab and gives you four options.

  • Individual URLs
  • An entire directory
  • Your entire site
  • A cached copy of a Google search result

These removals will be effective for 6 months.You also have the option of undoing the removal.
