Google made two pretty big acquisition announcements on their official blog. Marissa Mayer tells us they acquired Gapminder’s Trendalyzer software — see it in action on the "Gapminder World" page hosted on Google’s servers. Together, these two companies will work together to present the world’s data in ways that make complex and boring statistics interesting, and easy to comprehend.
Bernie Stolar announced the second acquisition. His announcement was about AdScape Media — a company that delivers non-intrusive in-game advertisements. The deal has been in the rumor mill since January, but now it is finally confirmed. The official announcement on the AdScape Media webpage basically says "Yes we bought AdScape, but let’s not talk about it".

This is pretty cool for webmasters – Google now offers you to see the most popular link text pointing to your site. Just go to your google Webmaster tools .
For quite a while, you’ve been able to see a list of the most common words used in anchor text to your site. This information is useful, because it helps you know what others think your site is about. How sites link to you has an impact on your traffic from those links, because it describes your site to potential visitors. In addition, anchor text influences the queries your site ranks for in the search results.
