Some disturbing news about Yahoo Search and the indexing of Google AdWords links.
Seems that the Yahoo index is including Google AdWords and other PPC tracking links for some Google advertisers which are messing up their backend tracking and analysis.
Doubtful Google is charging for these clickthru’s, but when you see hundreds of users landing on a Google AdWords specific landing page from Yahoo Search, there’s going to be some weird numbers.

To many SEO’s, having a search-engine friendly website is a concern from the start.
When we build or develop sites from scratch, it’s usually there as a priority. Because of this, on-site SEO isn’t usually a big issue to work with.
We can appreciate the commercial benefits of helping search engines find and read our content. And so do many businesses.
Unfortunately, there are a huge number of businesses out there who have the most appallingly developed websites. Javascript, Flash, frames, poor coding issues, and even a mixture of all of these, to contribute to sites with poor visibility in Google & co.
Twice this week I’ve seen big national companies with websites that have a blank Google cache - they really are in such an appalling state. And completely redeveloping these sites can often be a challenge that involves problem solving on multiple levels.

Yahoo’s unveiled a new search tool that may prove extremely valuable to parents. Created in conjunction with GreatSchools.net, the service allows users to search for elementary, middle, and high schools within a particular city or zip code. The tool then provides fairly detailed reports on the schools it finds.
The free service (which doesn’t seem to have a proper name beyond Schools Search) is available here. New Schools Search service that lets you search for U.S. schools by city and state or zip code. Results are plotted on a map, and you can sort by school district, distance from a specific location, grade level, or school type (public, private, charter). You can also plot nearby grocery stores, parks, restaurants and gas stations on the map.
Yahoo built the service in partnership with not-for-profit GreatSchools.net. Detail pages for each school include facts such as enrollment numbers, student to teacher ratio, test score data and graphs and so on. Also included are reviews from parents who have had kids attending the school.
Yahoo’s new service is a valuable research tool. It’s also a good way to check up on the schools that you’ve attended in the past.
