Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is paramount for businesses that choose to make themselves known via the Internet.
Keyword research and, ultimately, keyword selection are extremely important parts of the overall SEO process. Selecting keywords relevant to your field of activity is essential. Make sure you conduct a proper in-depth keyword research before you begin placing keywords on your web site.
If you want your web site to be high ranked in search engines, then find out the words that searchers use to get to your site and place them in the appropriate places.
Nevertheless, avoid the trap of placing too many keywords on a single page, because many search engines nowadays have "spam" filters, which means that your site might not even appear among search results.
Below are some tips on how you can perform a proper keyword research and how to use the keywords you have selected in order to optimize your site and rank it as high as possible in the most commonly used search engines. Always be aware that keyword selection is fundamental. Choosing keywords that people might not use to find your site and your products/services will not get you the expected traffic.

Google’s added a nifty little tool to Google Reader that allows you to view stats on your RSS reading trends.
I’m not quite sure how this information is going to help me - other than prove I am addicted to blog reading - but it’s somewhat fun to examine.
What would be cool is to see this data across the entire Google Reader user base (anonymous of course). It would be interesting to see when others do their reading.
What’s interesting is that I don’t "read" every single post. I divide my feeds up using tags, and unless you’re in the "tier 1″ tag, I’ll likely just read the titles of posts to see if something catches my eye. You may also be wondering about the one item I starred - well, I started starring items, then decided to "share" them instead.

Google AdSense is Beta-Testing Keyword-based Ad Filtering that allows publishers to nominate keywords that they don’t want ads about on their sites - a sort of ‘negative’ keyword targeting. Currently, AdSense publishers can block ads from showing on a URL by URL basis. It appears that Google may be testing a feature that will allow AdSense publishers to block ads from showing via a keyword list
This would help publishers who are getting mis-targeted and irrelevant ads on their sites. This ‘negative’ keyword targetting has to my knowledge been available to premium publishers for some time now but perhaps this is an indication that it is going to be made available to everyone.
Positive Keyword Targeting
The other type of AdSense keyword targeting that many publishers would like is ‘positive’ targeting where they would be able to submit keywords that their site is about that they would like ads about. Once again this is a feature that AdSense offers to some larger publishers (not just ‘premium’ publishers) who are struggling with ad relevancy however it is not something that they are offering (or planning to offer) other publishers at this point.
