RSS is fast becoming an obsession for me. I didn’t plan for it to be that way. It just happened.
I have been interested in RSS for a couple of years now but it was only around this time last year that I started taking a serious look at this little syndication standard that’s changing how we communicate on the web. Really Simple Syndication. Simple phrase but it changes everything.
figured what better way to get to know a subject than to write about it. Going through the vast resources of the Internet, blogs, forums, ebooks to collect what information I needed for my ebook and articles. The Internet is one huge storehouse of knowledge that more than supplied me with enough material to write a hundred articles.
Coming from a fine art background, I also knew the only way to really learn about a subject was ‘hands on’ experience. So at the same time I started to really implement RSS tactics on my own sites to get ‘first-hand’ evidence to prove or back up my articles and writing. I concentrated on website RSS techniques that worked with the major Search Engines; starting my own blogs and RSS feeds to enhance my sites and manipulating the search engines, feeding the spiders with very legit content to build targeted traffic to any keyword or market sector I wanted to promote.

What is PageRank?
PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be. Also, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is. Google calculates a page’s importance from the votes cast for it. How important each vote is is taken into account when a page’s PageRank is calculated.
PageRank is Google’s way of deciding a page’s importance. It matters because it is one of the factors that determines a page’s ranking in the search results. It isn’t the only factor that Google uses to rank pages, but it is an important one.
From here on in, we’ll occasionally refer to PageRank as "PR".
How is PageRank calculated?
To calculate the PageRank for a page, all of its inbound links are taken into account. These are links from within the site and links from outside the site.
PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn))
That’s the equation that calculates a page’s PageRank. It’s the original one that was published when PageRank was being developed, and it is probable that Google uses a variation of it but they aren’t telling us what it is. It doesn’t matter though, as this equation is good enough.
In the equation ‘t1 - tn’ are pages linking to page A, ‘C’ is the number of outbound links that a page has and ‘d’ is a damping factor, usually set to 0.85.

Today, a newer version of Google Earth was to be released, offering a timescale to the older version of the Internet-based geospatial search application.
Google’s new feature, in which a slider control can be used to scroll through time was previously available only to registered users of the premium version, Google Earth Pro. The newer version now features a simpler interface that is easier to use than the previous version.
On Tuesday, Michael Jones, Chief Technology Officer at Google Earth demonstrated Google’s new feature at the AGI-2006 (Association for Geographic Information) event held in London.
While tracking the movements of a whale shark using GPS, Jones showed how scientists had mapped the creature’s path using the application.
Various business uses can include fleet tracking or simply mapping the movements of transport infrastructure, according to Google. Jones also described how the new version would enable people to track all of the geostationary satellites orbiting the earth.
