An Affiliate program is a revenue sharing program or software where the affiliate web site receives a percentage of the income for delivering the sales, lead or traffic to the site. There are mainly three type of the affiliate program

1. Pay per click : It is also called the click through program. In this the visitor don’t have to buy some thing in order for the publisher to make a money. All your visitors need to do is click on the unique affiliate link in order for the publisher to get paid.

2. Pay per lead : In this also the visitor don’t have to buy some thing in order for the publisher to make a money. The publisher is paid depending on the number of leads actually delivered by the ad. Information can often be entered directly into the banner ad.

3. Pay per sale :  In this the visitor have to buy some thing in order for the publisher to make a money. An affiliate earns commissions when he refers someone to the merchants site and the visitor buys something with the merchant. The commission you receive normally is a percentage of the total price but sometimes however a fixed amount per sale is agreed.
