After setting up a blog , our next aim is to get good traffic to our blog. Main purpose of blogs is to achieve good number of visitors and increase regular readership. Following are some tips to increase traffic to your blog:

1. Add your blog to our Blog Directories for free, and then check out some of the other great blog promotion sites such as RSS directories like Daypop, Popdex, Technorati etc and submit your RSS feed URL in those directories.

2. Select keywords with good search count and low competition. You can shoot for a keyword that gets a moderate level of targeted traffic resulting in more subscribers and sales. You can take advantage of selected keywords by adding them in your post titles, your category names, the pages URL names, the text of your permanent links that appear after each post.

3. Try to post at least one article per day and set “Ping Weblogs” option to be checked so that Weblogs.com are pinged eventually whenever you publish a new article. The more you post, the more food for the spider, which can cause the spider to visit your blog more frequently and thus your pages will be indexed more frequently.

4. Try to get back links by linking back to similar blogs as yours. They will track back their link on your blog and therefore may lead to giving a link back to your blog too.
